Episode 1: Lanzarote

Welcome to the Pilot Episode of SeriousBanter presents The Run! The very first and very official episode of this brand new IRL Game Show awaits – and we are ready! The very first episode of The Run is held on the beautiful island of Lanzarote, one of the Canary Islands. Nice and warm, not too big, not too mountaneous and of course, completely surrounded by blue ocean. An absolutely stunning location! The city we picked is Puerto del Carmen. A very pretty little beach town with a lot of nice sights and happy people and places.

Of course we are sending out the two Players on an adventure to capture as much of the location’s gorgeousness as possible. We did some fine map making and were able to put each Player up to 3 Landmarks that are all absolutely gorgeous, about the same distance away from each other and last but not least, well worth taking a photo of!

Timing and duration: ~2 hours

The total time for each player to photograph their Landmarks and walk to the Starting Point of the other Player is around an hour, maybe an 1:20h. That is, if chat doesn’t mess around with some awful hindering Rewards 😉

Due to the limited size of this town, it is NOT ALLOWED for a player to capture more than one gate. This is because it’s far too easy to walk from Gate 1 to Gate 2 and 3.

The Map Layout

The layout of The Run Episode 1 is as follows.

Starting Point Player 1

Player 1 starts at the La isla y el mar Hotel. This hotel is exactly as far from the center point of the map as the starting point for player 2.

Starting Point Player 2

Player 2 starts at Hotel Beatriz Playa & SPA. This location is about as far east as you can go, without walking onto the airport.

The Gates

There are 3 Gates in this episode divided over the center line of the play field.

Gate 1: The literal gate at the end of C. Dinamarca

Take a photo of the gate at the very end of the street.

Gate 2: The little circular garden on the left of Relaxia Olivina

Take a photo of the big trees in the middle of the garden.

Gate 3: Mirador Playa Grande

Take a photo of that white thing. It must be fully visible from top to bottom.

The Landmarks

Landmarks player 1

LM1: The mural at Playa Chica

Take a photo of the whole mural. HINT: it’s close to the outdoor beach toilets.

LM2: The little brown/white house in the back between the 2 palm trees on Av. de las Playas

Take a photo of the building and the 2 palm trees.

LM3: Gran Casino de Lanzarote

Take a photo of the big “C” on top or side of the building.

Landmarks Player 2

LM4: Hotel Riu Paraiso Lanzarote

Take a photo of the front of the building.

LM5: The big blue pole and sign that reads “El Róbalo – CÉSAR MANRIQUE”

Take a photo of the pole and the sign in the middle of the roundabout on Av. de las Playas.

Stats / facts about this Run

It’s not allowed to walk between all 3 gates due to the limited size of the map
Each player starts 30 minutes away from their respective closest gate
It’s a 60-70 minute walk for Player 1 from start to the last Landmark and then the starting point of player 2.
It’s a 60-70 minute walk for Player 2 from start to the last Landmark and then the starting point of Player 1.
